Kingdom First

Matthew 6:31-33 NLT
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

The world as we know it has been rapidly changing over the past few years. The biggest change is the majority of population's attitude toward God. There is an obvious reality that we are living in the day of apostasy (turning away from God). I have been preaching about a great spiritual war that the children of God is currently engaged in. There is an unprecedented increase in darkness, deception, hatred, violence,  and evil like we have never seen before. This spiritual war has an indirect effect on the people of God. Believers are not exempt from the hardships of the world. The pandemic, political unrest, economic breakdown, and the rise of iniquity does hit home for believers just as unbelievers. The one thing I pray for my brothers & sisters in Christ is the realization that we can choose to live our lives according to the principles of God's Kingdom which does give us promises of favor over the kingdom of this world.

Jesus shares with us in Matthew chapters 5-7 some very important principles and promises concerning our Heavenly Father's commitments to us. In chapter 5 verses 1 thru 12 there are blessings promised to us, in verses 13 thru 16 of that same chapter there is a distinction made between those that love God and how they stand out as examples for everyone else. When you get to chapter 6, Jesus gets into everyday life and teaches us that our Heavenly Father has promised to take care of us. Jesus instructs us on prayer, fasting, finances, and the daily cares of everyday life. God is concerned and does provide for His children in all of these areas. Living in a Kingdom Mindset  brings us peace of mind when the rest of the world is in chaos. This peace of mind is available to everyone who puts their trust in God.

This letter is just a letter of encouragement for us  to seek out God's Kingdom just as Jesus encourages us to do in the verses above. I pray you will turn that worry into prayer, that hand ringing into service, that fear into faith, and that endless attack of the enemy into an opportunity for you to shine as a light to others as an overcomer who has victory thru our Lord Jesus Christ. I know it seems sometimes that we are in a hopeless situation. When we dwell in the confines of this world things can become hopeless, but when we seek the Kingdom of God first and His righteousness we can have full assurance and hope because our Heavenly Father has promised us that He has our back.

Heavenly Father, I pray for every person that is reading this letter. I pray that you will bring light into dark situations and that you will give them the faith and strength to grab ahold of You and Your promises. Lord forgive us for our sins and redeem us from our depravity. Open our eyes that we may see Your blessings and provisions that you have given to us. Help us Lord to stand strong in these uncertain times and  shine a light thru us so others may experience Your goodness as well. I ask all of these things in Jesus name, Amen!
